Yeah, I actually love this song. Sure, the guy can’t pronounce English (or French, for that matter) for his life, but at least he’s trying. Anyway, most of these lyrics were by ear, and for the English lyrics that were too hard to differentiate, I referred to the subs that came with the episode. Now edited with the actual lyrics, so everyone should be happy.
Opening 1: Spiral by DUSTZ
Samayou TRAPPED IN ENDLESS NIGHT,
Sonzai jitai ni imi ushinai,
Modorenai kako DON’T YOU DARE TO KNOW,
Kuzureru ALL THINGS I BELIEVE,
Genjitsu mitaku nai kurai hibi,
Nukedasenai joukyou DON’T KNOW WHERE TO GO,
DO YOU KNOW HOPE IS FAKE IN THIS WORLD,
AND DESPAIR IS THE ONLY TRUTH I’VE GOT,
Yami wo kirisaite,
Genkai sawashinai WHY MUST I BE BLEEDING?
Nigernai MÉLANCOLIE,
Genkai agaiteru hakkyou sunzen,
BECAUSE IT WILL NEVER END,
J’AI PLUS RIEN A CROIRE,
CETTE VIE QU’EST-CE QU’IL Y A À VOIR,
Kanawanai THIS SUFFERING,
Genkai kowashitai THAT’S MY LAST SCREAM,
Sakerenai REALITY,
NO PAIN NO GAIN zettai kousen,
IF REALLY THERE IS AN END,
A QUOI JE M’ATTENDS?
APOCALYPSE MAINTENANT,
Kawaranai THIS SUFFERING WORLD.
Anyway enjoy. Also, Lucretia might blog the ending to this anime sometime in the future. A song by Nana Mizuki. So, now you have that to look forward to. Lucky people.

I have been enjoying this OP as well. I found myself waking up one morning humming it. It definitely sounds good while walking around town, as I often do.

It’s catching on, I do love the queue, but my qualms about the bad pronunciation is still stopping me from liking this song full stop

Not to attack you or anything, and I really am grateful for the lyrics, but Ray is half-French, and his French is actually excellent.
True, his English might not be that clear (I had trouble understanding it, as well) but saying that he can’t pronounce French is just greatly discrediting him. The only reason I can think of why you would think his French is bad, is because of the sounds he has to swallow to make the lyrics match the rhythm of the song.
I’m not sure if you have already, but just in case you haven’t, I recommend listening to the full version; you can clearly hear his pronunciation of French is actually spot on.
Like I said, I didn’t mean to attack you, I just wanted to set this straight =) Once again, thank you for the lyrics!

I have listened to the full version, and he pronounces the French fine on that.
Unfortunately, personally, I don’t find French to be the easiest language to put into song. Plus, I only learned French up until my 5th year of high school, so I’m not that competent at picking up words by ear, either.
So, it may pretty much be my fault that I didn’t think he could pronounce properly.
However, his English isn’t perfect, especially in comparison to the numerous other Asian artists who can pronounce English well. This was my only major point.

Actually, if you get your hands on the full version of the song, these would be the correct lyrics.
samayou trap in endless night
sonzai jitai ni imi ushinai
modorenai kako Don’t you dare to know
kuzureru all things I believe
genjitsu mitakunai kurai hibi
nukedasenai joukyou Don’t know where to go
Do you know that “hope” is fake in this world
And “despair” is the only truth I’ve got
yami wo kirisaite
∞ (mugendai) sewashinai Why I must be bleeding?
nigerenai melancholy
genkai agaiteru hakkyou sunzen Because it will never end
J’ai plus rien a croire
Cette vie qu’est-ce qu’il y a a voir?
kanawanai this suffering world !
En levant les yeux, il n’y a rien a faire
J’ai plus envie de me mentir a moi meme
Mais, ces realites qui defoncent mon esprit
Pourquoi on vit? Pourquoi cet endroit?
Ou aller se plaindre? Qui me comprendra?
Ou est cette putain de verite?
S’egorger toujours tout le temps, qui voudra me faire
peine a moi?
Comme quoi? Comme qui? Comme-ci comme-ca, sans
raison, oh Dieu pourquoi?
∞ (mugendai) kowashitai That’s my last scream
! sakerenai reality
No Pain No Gain zettai kousen If really there is an end
A quoi je m’attends?
Apocalypse maintenant
kawaranai this suffering world !

This is pretty much what I’ve written. Only the TV version. Meaning its shorter.
…That’s just about all I can say regarding your comment.

I don’t know why you say they can’t pronounce french to save their life. Their french is reaaaaally good. I’m bilingual, I should know. Have you seen their french interview? They grew up in the Lycée Français in Japan…

Please read the comments. I clearly took back that remark.
Seriously, the hate I’ve gotten for something I’ve taken back…
