The final match of the vanguard tournament finally kicks off with the opening moves from Kamui and Tetsu
—————————————————————————
Kamui stays a little late at Card Capital preparing his deck and so is ‘kicked’ out.
Aichi comes home late and goes straight to his room without dinner. He wonders how he’s going to fight someone that even Kai couldn’t beat, but either way, he has to give it his all.
Ren is more than confident for the match ahead and foresees Aichi’s defeat.
After a shaky start to the morning from Kamui, Team Q4 is ready to go, without Kai.
In the stadium, Kamui bumps into Tetsu on the way back from the toilet who mistakens him for a lost kid, which annoys Kamui greatly.
But anyway, the crowds have gathered, including Kai, and the participants are eagerly awaiting the start. So after declaring the match lineups, Tetsu vs Kamui, Asaka vs Misaki and Ren vs Aichi, the first match gets underway.
The spectators expect an easy win for Tetsu, aka ‘the general’ but of course Kamui won’t go down easy.
Kamui rides Blaupanzer, Blaujunger’s skill activates allowing Kamui to search for Blaukruger ending his turn. Tetsu rides Prisoner beast and Vermillion gatekeeper’s skill soulcharges 1. Prisoner beast attacks and deals 1 damage. 1-0.
Annoyed that Tetsu’s not even looking at him he calls for Tetsu to look his way and rides Blaukruger. He calls Shout and Street Bouncer and rests both to draw. He then calls Death Army Lady and Death Army Guy. Death Army Lady and Blaukruger deal 2 damage. 1-2.
Kamui is aware of Stil Vampir’s ability so he holds onto his grade 0s instead of recklessly attacking. Tetsu takes notice of this and finally ‘notices’ him.
Thoughts
Well, that was rather disappointing. I was hoping they’d at least get going with the duel, i.e. play more than one turn each. But nope… they basically only played one turn each… and that was the most interesting part of the episode too. I’m assuming the new episodes will be like this too, just the duels and nothing really story related. Which means I probably won’t comment much, but I’m interested in the duels too, especially Misaki’s one as I actually run a Tsukuyomi build. Well, it’s only online and I only duel Raven, but still, twill be interesting to see how Misaki wins. Which I’m certain she will.
Kamui looks set to lose, however I think it’ll be the typical ‘good duel’ in which Tetsu will recognise Kamui’s skills and at least notice him and there’ll probably be lots of cheering for both fighters, that sorta thing.
So anyway, we’ll see how things go, I probably won’t comment too much unless something unexpected happens. I will comment when the card that Aichi chose, or didn’t choose, is shown, how much I comment will depend on which option he chose.

Raven
Whereas I’m enjoying this duel. As you well know, I use Dark Irregulars, much like good old Tetsu. I spam Soulcharge. A lot.
I’ll probably enjoy the next duel also, as it will have Pale Moon, which I also run. I also spam Soulcharge in that. A lot.
To be honest, in this duel, Kamui has the better start. The Death Army duo will probably prove useful later-duel, when he pulls a Grade 3 in his drive check. Although, Stil Vampir still appears in the episode preview, so I also predict Tetsu wins. When Vampir uses his Soulblast, there’s really not a lot you can do.
