Episode 9: A Day Something May or May Not Happen

Intro: Chinatsu designs the background, which shocks Akari into freezing, unable to do the intro.

Synopsis:

Akari, Chinatsu, Himawari and Sakurako hold a study session. Everyone except Sakurako studies, who ends up messing about. They ring Kyouko asking for a cramming technique, but she tells a lie. Yui gives Kyouko some bread to take to them, but on the way she eats them.

Chinatsu brings in a pound cake, but decides to hide it from Kyouko in the closet. However, she ends up hiding along with the cake when the others arrive. She comes up with several ways of escaping the closet, but doesn’t do it. Yui also brings in a pound cake and the others eat it. Trapped in the closet, Chinatsu decides to eat her cake herself.

Kyouko’s ghost?

Chinatsu sleeps over at Akari’s. Akari tries to keep awake by watching a horror film with Chinatsu. After, they play cards but Akari falls asleep. Chinatsu can’t sleep due to the film and tries to think of something else, but the appearance of Akane scares her even more. Later, Akari wakes up and is scared by Chinatsu’s appearance that she can’t get back to sleep.

guess who?

Akari meets Chitose working and offers her some ice cream. Chinatsu and Ayano are clothes shopping, selecting clothes for their love interests. Himawari meets Kyouko in a bookstore, who plays some practical jokes on Himawari. After she shows Himawari which study guides are ideal.

Sakurako meets Yui and asks her for advice on cooking. However, as Yui tries to explain, Sakurako ends up choosing the lazy way in instant meals. Meanwhile, Akari loses her ice cream after being knocked. Slightly upset, Chitose offers half of hers which Akari accepts.

Analysis:

Yes I am back and well behind in the schedule. Things happen in RL and this was preparation for me as I return back to college. So you can imagine I have been very busy getting things sorted. At least at the present moment I have 4 days off and 3 days in, unless some more drastic changes in my college schedule; expecting a change that involves me coming in on the weekend at 3am… too extreme.

Anyway, hopefully things will settle down and I can get back on here. I know that I am too far behind in the blogs. Therefore I am only going to blog from the most informative episodes to the present ones. So I reckon, probably Dog Days’ will be from episode 8 and Phi Brain from episode 21, adding a few important developments from previous episodes. Yuruyuri will continue with all the episodes.

This episode has the girls mixing around with their other friends than the normal ones they hang around with, which was nice. Akari gets a bit more of a role in this episode as she not ignored like usual. She and Chinatsu have a sleepover, which does not go according to plan. It is not a good idea to watch some horror film just before bed time (Me; Blood-C – Episode 12 at 3:00am; not good).

Akari seems to be getting a lot of misfortune in recent episodes. This one has her ice cream eating dirt, but luckily Chitose was willing to share hers, even though Akari bought it. I also wonder why, young kids seem to ignore potential accidents. For example, kicking a football against a wall right next to a glass window, or running wild near some breakable objects e.g. cups, vases, glasses etc. Sometimes you tell them to mind the cup full of water used to clean the paintbrushes, yet they seem to find a way to knock it over. In the end, I just give up.
