Daiyusha Falls

Key Events

Kenji comes back from Singapore and everyone wants to meet him, but Yuri and Gai are stuck in traffic. Kai gets there first and challenges him to a duel. Eager to show Kai what he’s learnt in SIT, he accepts. Kai wins and spreads the love of the Void to Kenji.

SIT Genius are waiting as well and Kenji invites them to a special room to duel. Kenji brings out Reverse Daiyusha and defeats Chris and ‘brainwashes’ team Genius and anyone who duels in the entire airport to the cause of Void.

We then see Kai sitting on a plane that seems bound for New York heading into dark clouds.

Well, I expected Kenji to be back as I commented he was on the opening theme animation, but not so soon. I thought he’d help everyone beat the Reverse fighters, not become one himself. Although at least one of my predictions was right in that SIT genius were also reversed, albeit not targeted by Kai himself but hey the end result is the same. I wonder if it will be Aichi to the rescue this time, I did predict it last episode and thinking about it again, there’s really no one else, unless Yuri is going to beat everyone herself. I find that hard to believe, sure we haven’t seen her in quite a while but surely her skill can’t have improved to much that it’s better than a university taught Kenji wielding the power of Void.

A logical sequence of events would be that Yuri and Gai both are reversed, they including SIT after probably reversing more along the way, finally get to Aichi. Then Aichi ‘purifies’ them. Or someone else who meets them on the way who is strong enough like Leon Souryu for example. He would be perfect too as he too was possessed by Void before so he can probably sense its presence. And he also showed up in the OP theme so this job is perfect. I believe he is still in Japan awaiting the highschool championships.

However that’s not the most important thing in this episode. What was most important was that short clip at the end with Kai. I think we’re all wondering what he’s doing. For one thing, why New York of all places, I don’t remember anything big ever happen there in Vanguard. The one thing I thought of was Takuto planning another tournament that’s going to be hosted in New York. That’s very likely, Kai will probably Reverse all of the good Vanguard fighters in New York all to try and take Aichi down. For the moment, I don’t have any other plausible ideas so I’ll wait to see how it plays out and see if they give some more clues.

Now onto the card, been a while since I’ve reviewed a card. and it’s only because I’ve finally seen a reverse card released that I think is good and is worthy of being called an upgrade. Here’s the reason why. The cost for the main ability is firstly a low 1 counterblast that should cause no concern. Then there’s 2 locked units, which will likely be boosting units as you would choose your back row over your front. So put it this way, you will be sacrificing less than or equal to 8k in terms of power for 2 of your 3 attacks as you will be in end game and should have a full field of cards by now. So yeah, you lose your boosting units which are gonna be equal to or less than 8k in terms of power, but you will gain 10k if all of your attacks are going for the vanguard so that’s a gain of at least 2k for two of your attacks and a gain of 10k for your third attack. I see that as a very good trade in terms of sacrifice and gain.

Anyways, let’s see who gallops to the rescue to save Kenji and see if we get any clues as to what Kai has planned.
