So this song has a very very loose relation to anime, but it’s such a good song and I’ve been using it as my pick up song for the past month or so, so I had to do my SOTW for it.

I found the song through a recommended video on Youtube actually. I never usually browse those videos before because I’m fairly specific on what I like to watch and/or listen to. That said, it had a cool KanColle picture and Sawano Hiroyuki was in the title so I knew I couldn’t go wrong with that and I’m now so glad I did click on it.

The song itself isn’t on any anime, though I think it would fit into many anime scenes. Regardless, the song is part of an album where a number of songs are part of anime, definitely worth checking out the whole album, some amazing songs in there, Sawano Hiroyuki never disappoints. With that in mind, here is Remember by Sawano Hiroyuki[nZk] ft. Mizuki, Gemie, Tielle, naNami & Yosh.

This week’s post is the new(ish) OP to Black Clover. Black Clover’s been knocking it out of the park for OP/ED themes recently, and this may be the best one yet.

On top of that, I have previous love for Seiko Oomori songs (particularly the 2nd ED to Shokugeki no Soma), so that’s probably why this theme rates so highly for me.

But – good God, is this OP spoilerific or what?

…Still, I’ll just leave the video here then:

After working some 12 hour days in the lead up to Easter holidays to get a lot of work done, I’m finally on holiday! Hence why this is late. But no matter, the time off so far has given me the chance to do some random stuff to relax, and one of the things I relax to is anime OP quizzes. You may know this as I’ve mentioned it before.

Luckily only hearing from one ear doesn’t really affect my ability on these quizzes and they always seem to give good inspiration for SOTWs. This week’s one comes up very often on anime OP quizzes and I’ve heard it so many times that I’ve started to like it even though I’ve never seen the anime. So try it on loop for a while and I think you might start to like it too if you don’t already. Here is Departure by Masatoshi Ono.

A little bit late again this week, but everyone who works should know how work is. This week I’m blogging the ED to Go-Toubun no Hanayome, because how the hell have I not blogged it yet? Also to celebrate the series finale, I suppose, not that we had the ED actually play.

So here.

Ending Edit:

Well, almost a decade into this blog and I guess I’ve finally hit a real hurdle to writing it with my current illness. Now obviously loss of hearing in one ear doesn’t affect my writing or thinking ability, but with any life changing event it does make you think a little more about the direction of your life.

Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. Last year this time I was thinking ‘is this it?’ and thought that everything around me was a bit ‘meh’. But after losing my hearing, I do appreciate life a lot more and have started to focus on what I want to do in life and where I want to be in the next decade or so. At the end of the day, that isn’t blogging, although because I still enjoy blogging, I do imagine that this blog will continue many years down the line, it just won’t be a primary focus.

As an update to my life, I’d like to say I’ve come to terms now with my loss of hearing and getting on with returning to my normal life, but with a renewed goal in mind of what I want to do and where I want to be.

That said, I’m not completely sure when I’ll return to blogging, the summer anime season does seem like the perfect time, but I’ll think about it for now.

As always, huge thanks to who’s still around and enjoying my random musings!
