So, I don’t think it’s a secret that I’m now a fan of Akatsuki no Yona thanks to the anime, and having recently blogged the first OP, I felt obliged to also do the equally great second OP as well. Here is Akatsuki no Hana by Cyntia.

Unfortunately due to copyright there isn’t anything on youtube for the full song apart from this acoustic live version. However I have also linked the full version from Dailymotion.

So, I don’t think it’s a secret that I loved Akatsuki no Yona in the last two seasons and weirdly enough on a recent poll from ANN on your favourite shoujo manga I voted for Yona. You probably find that surprising that I voted Yona over my 4th and 5th favourite anime Kimi ni Todoke and Shugo Chara. And if I’m honest I surprised myself. It’s definitely moving near my top 5, the fact that I’m actually now reading it has improved its position a lot. My vote was purely a spur of the moment thing and so far Kimi ni Todoke and Shugo Chara are my two favourite shoujo anime and manga. Yona isn’t far behind, in fact I just looked at my personal anime list and I rated it as number 8. Could easily creep up as I read the manga. But anyways, so I’ve established the fact that I love the anime and to top that off it has a fairly unique first opening theme, in that it has no words. And it was a beautiful piece of music, so I wanted to share it with everyone. Here is Akatsuki no Yona by Kunihiko Ryo.

Exams back on, and new season’s on, this time I don’t predict good times. But I did enjoy my exam free time during the summer and watching a lot more anime. My picks of last season has to be Akame ga Kill and Hanayamata, two quite contrasting anime if you’ve seen both, but I felt like with my exams over I wanted to enjoy something with a plot and after recommendations came my way I settled on Akame ga Kill. I was a little disappointed with the season as there really wasn’t that many anime that I liked. Sword Art Online and Hamatora was good, but neither were things that I actually looked forward to. With this new season I’m going to have to cherry pick anime again with revision being much higher on my priority list. Perhaps it’s lucky that there isn’t anything that I know I would really want to watch, of course that could all change with first impressions.
