We begin in a book shop with Ryouko in disguise, who’s buying a new girl’s romance novel.

Back at school now. Otsuu, the maid, is sweeping up, and has a crowd of creepy people watching her…  As a baseball comes flying out of nowhere and is going to hit Otsuu, Ryoushi shoots a rock, or whatever he shoots, from his slingshot to save her.

Later that evening as Ryoushi heads back into his apartment, he gets quite the surprise when it was Otsuu who greeted him, in a maid like way.

Next day, Ryoushi comes into class, very tired. He explains what happened to Ringo and she says it’s because Otsuu, who always repays her debts, i.e. for saving her from the baseball. So, Ringo decides to go to help Ryoushi out and go to his house after school, she entices Ryouko to go too by saying the two dogs are there.

It seems that the apartment owner is Ryoushi’s aunt, Yukime, and she’s also a famous romance novelist. Yep you’ve guessed it, the one and same as the author who wrote the book Ryouko bought at the start of the episode. And well, she’s not the type of refined, elegant lady Ryouko was expecting to meet, she’s anything but.

As they get talking and during an interval when Ryoushi’s not present, we discover that Ryouko has indeed taken an interest in Ryoushi. Yukime then invites them to stay for dinner.

It seems that the student council present, Hansel and a mysterious girl Shiratori Mahiru, also live in these apartments. But those two take no notice of anyone else, stuck in their own fantasy… Then there’s the secretary, Gretel who’s there too. We also meet Yukime’s husband, Wakato, a normal guy.

As Otsuu serves them glasses of water, she suddenly collapses with a high fever. Yukime rushes her to the hospital. Apparently it’s because of fatigue and sleep deprivation.

At Otogi bank the next day, everyone decides to crash at Ryoushi’s place to look after Otsuu. There, we get to hear the reason behind Otsuu determination to repay debts. When she was small she was nearly ran over by a truck, but was saved by a boy she knew who lived next door. Unfortunately he died, and therefore she was unable to return the favour. So now, she fears being unable to return her favours. But then Ringo thinks of a plan.

When Otsuu wakes up, she sees everyone from Otogi bank dressed up in maid outfits. This is Ringo’s plan. It’s simple really, pile on so many favours that it’ll be impossible for Otsuu to repay, then have Ryouko give a heart-warming companionship speech and how friends help each other out of their own free will, not to ask for something in return.

After some joyful tears from Otsuu, everyone decides to party in Ryoushi’s room.

I have to say, Otsuu’s one determined maid. Anyone would love to have someone as hardworking as that for anything really, never mind a maid. Though that probably doesn’t explain the gathering of those weird people watching her… it’s more than likely they’re there for much different reasons…

Usually when with a tsundere, it takes many many episodes, most of the time near the end of the series, for her to admit she likes the main guy. But it was rather quick for Ryouko to admit she’s interested in Ryoushi, I wonder if that’s a sign for something. Or maybe I’m over thinking it. Either way, I doubt anything dramatic will happen anytime soon. Probably… shouldn’t do anyway.

Okay, so far it’s gone through the main character’s background stories then. I’m assuming it’s going to be the Otogi bank’s president next, if they continue with back stories. Ringo and Ryouko would probably be last. I’m speculating that Ryouko has a troubled past and Ryoushi helps her overcome it and then they get together sorta thing, that would be the cliché way to go, and I’d love to see that happen, but something just as good will do too.

I loved Otsuu’s back story. It was so simple, but it was sad enough to nearly make me cry. Simplicity is the best after all.

Anyone notice the Cazio clock? I’ve actually seen a fake Casio clock but it was Cadio, just felt like sharing that bit of info, I found it rather hilarious.

Quite funny seeing so many maid outfits in this episode, took me back to Kaichou.

Another fun episode. Hope it continues like this.
