It seems that this episode is about those who didn’t go on the trip to Kyoto, i.e. Ui for starters, as it starts with her texting Yui to see if she was on time or not.

Now at class Ui’s showing Azusa Yui’s texts, so I was right. Azusa then makes a very good point that Ui is spoiling her bigger sister, which doesn’t happen often in real life I’m sure… I would love to have a little sister like that, I could just slack off and do nothing while she does the work hehe… yeah… anyway… after receiving a text from Yui saying that she forgot her lunch box in her classroom, Ui, Azusa and Jun goes to fetch it for her. Realising that Yui is not coming home, Ui is on the verge of tears… that’s rare… so Jun and Azusa both decide to stay at hers for the night.

Azusa is then roped into helping some freshmen in the Jazz club with the guitar. She teaches some helpful finger stretching exercises that can make them more flexible, I think I may try it as well.

Later in the evening we find that Ui has no sense of amount, as she cooks up a banquet, just for three people, and even then she’s got more if it’s not enough. It was definitely more than enough as Jun brought a huge super all-star pack of donuts and Azusa brought sushi.

After food it’s bedtime. They talk about going to the zoo tomorrow and then receive a text from Yui that says ‘skull’, I think we all know why.

They wake up, but it’s raining, though that doesn’t stop them in the end as everyone’s bored. They go to a batting centre, as Jun read some sports manga and she wanted to try it. Ui is the only one who actually hits the ball, and a home run at that, because of a little tip she overhears.

Azusa suddenly remembers she hasn’t fed Ton-chan and they all rush through the rain to school. Again, after feeding Ton-chan, they have nothing to do. So they decide to play some music together. The rain finally stops when they finish a tune.

As Ui and Azusa sees Jun off on the bus, Yui calls to say that she’s lost, remember from the last episode?

Everyone’s now back and gives Ui a souvenir, a key chain of the hiragana bu, the other four also has similar ones and together they make up the five hiragana for ke-i-o-n-bu. Ui asks to practice, but, same old light music club, they just want to have tea.

Like some earlier episodes, I found this not as entertaining as some. But that could be because it was the secondary characters that they focused on in this episode. Well, I’m not against an Azusa, Ui and Jun episode, it’s about time the younger characters got some quality air time. I liked the random Yui texts, which obviously wasn’t shown in the last episode apart from the short phone call when they got lost. We also got to see a very rare moment of Ui being the little sister stereotype crying as her big sister isn’t coming home. Not really much else to say, the three girl band of Ui, Azusa and Jun was quite fun. I think overall it was rather plain, but it definitely had its good moments. Everyone’s now back for the next episode.
