With Barragan defeated, Love expects a reaction from Starrk. So he releases his sword and attacks with haste. He finds that Starrk seems to have slowed down and believes he’s the type that gets shaken up. He finds an opening and knocks Starrk into the ground. But he then just stays on the ground, and doesn’t want to care anymore. But Lilynette has a different view and fires cero on her own to attract Love’s attention to restart the fight.

As the fight drags on with neither side seeming to have the upper hand, Love calls out his mask and attacks some more. With Lilynette’s encouragement Starrk starts to get a little serious, enough to draw out Rose to release his sword. With both of them in their hollowfication states, their teamwork easily knocks the unmotivated Starrk into the ground again, this time inside a burning pillar of fire.

Back to Halibel. Lisa disagrees that they’ll face Halibel three on one, instead it’s two on one with Lisa and Hiyori calling out their hollow masks.

Inside the flame pillar, Starrk is moaning about how strong his opponents are and how alone he is. But again, it just takes some more encouraging talk from Lilynette before he gets back on his feet. This time, he’s actually serious. As he emerges out of the flames he looks unarmed, and a horde of wolves are by his side. He gestures with his hand and the wolves charge out to attack.

Love and Rose easily dispatches them, although they just materialise again. As the wolf attacks them in close range, they explode. Love escapes and believes them to be ceros. But Starrk explains that those wolves are actually parts of his and Lilynette’s soul, ripped out. They fight like comrades and he uses them as weapons. Love and Rose suffer heavy damage from the attacks and drop out of the sky.

As Starrk lands near them to deliver the finishing blow, a blade strikes through his chest.

Thought as much, they definitely slowed down this fight and are dragging it out. It’s probably because Barragan’s fight took such little time to finish. I reckon Starrk’s fight won’t conclude next episode, probably another one after that. I know there’s still quite a bit to go for this battle to end. There’s also Halibel’s fight which they’ll probably put in a few clips of during Starrk’s fight to fill up the time. And yeah, he’s not dead from this stabbing moment, obviously.

I have to say, I love Starrk’s character. Probably because he’s so similar to me as I always sleep during my work and school… He’s technically sleeping on the job, like Kyouraku, I love that nice relaxed and laid back attitude. It’s great to have, well, probably not actually…

So, Starrk’s actual power is to summon up a horde of wolves, by ripping his soul apart though… Wonder if that hurts, considering they are souls, or rather a mass of souls. Exploding wolf souls, that’s just like homing pigeons… Well, I guess his power is enough to justify his number one rank as he easily took out two hollowfied captain level soul reapers pretty easily. But then was easily snuck up on.

Hmm… Love has a big cactus like mallet that doesn’t look interesting at all, probably only good for smashing things up and making a barbeque. That flame looked all show and no substance, it didn’t even damage Starrk. And Rose uses a whip that has musical powers, or something like that by the looks of it. It looked interesting for a while, but didn’t look like anything dramatic so I wasn’t really intrigued by it that much.

So anyway, not much happened then, as usual. Love and rose got beat down, that’s about it. I summarised an entire episode in six words. That’s how dragged on Bleach is. Which is one reason I didn’t want to blog it as I knew I wouldn’t have much to say. Whatever, it’s fun enough.

I guess we won’t be seeing any progression in Gin vs Shinji for a while apart from the normal hack and slash. And, I know it’ll be a very long time before we can see Aizen move. Of course I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say the reason.

The Hitsugaya and Hiyori antics are already getting old. Luckily they’ve started fighting so it looks alright for now.

From burnah.com

Starting off in a pretty popular airport in this episode. Looks like this was a go-to destination for dead people everywhere.

We see two pilots about to set off, looking on the runway, seeing quite a lot of ‘them’. One has some family in Tokyo, but obviously trying to ignore that fact. As they get ready to set off, we see two new potential main characters added to the story. Now I got to say – if I was in some kind of zombie apocalypse, staying in a nice spot, with a sniper, looking over a lot of targets, I’d be happy and entertained for a long, long while – These guys have got it right. Another thing he has right is offering to massage ‘two big problems’ for her, but let’s leave that there.

Now back with the crew on the bus. That damn Shido blabbing on again about god knows what.. so full of himself. Everyone pretty much ignoring him too. It’s definitely a nice change of scenery in this episode, sun is shining, they are stuck in a traffic jam – after what they’ve been through, that must seem pretty sweet to be in. All the current survivors around them, and plans of evacuation are in place. Saya and Hirano are talking about surviving and how this could work. Over time it becomes more and more apparent of Sayas’ liking of Takashi and Hiranos’ for Saya.

Back with Takashi and Rei. The inevitable has happened, civil wars and corrupt, assertive justice is occurring. The streets are flooded with ‘them’, psychopaths and criminals, all attempting to be controlled by the police. This bit I had to laugh at – Some cool-kid with his pals trying to show the police up. Blast. Straight into the water. Couldn’t help but grin with smugness at that.

With Saeko and Saya talking about Shido and his insane rants, it’s definitely obvious this is the start of a cult, as they said. They need to get out of there quick and smoothly. Sayas’ jealousy right now is showing majorly, as Saeko is talking about meeting up with Rei and Takashi.

One of my favourite bits of this episode happens now. Back on the bus, the original 4 (excluding Rei and Takashi) have planned to get off, but Shido plays his sly games again. But no, it aint happenin’ when Hiranos’ around. That bad boy, kick ass side that showed back in the school? Oh yeah, it’s back, and he’s not taking any sh*t from anyone. He explains how he’s withheld all his anger and frustration, but this is the final straw, no more is he going to take any of it. And wow. He makes Shido quiver in fear, and even shocks the rest of the people, go for it Hirano boy!

Now they’re on a road getting more and more surrounded by ‘them’. With Hiranos’ nails running out, there seems to be little options. Until, yes, Takashi and Rei storm in, in may I add a very cool way, to come wipe the floor with ‘them’. Takashi passes the pistol to Hirano, and there it is, that psychopathic look on his face again. Boom, Psycho-Hirano. It’s at this point when they are all fighting you realise, wow this lot really are pretty much elites, and if a group had to be bonded together to survive, this is definitely THE group to do that very thing.

It’s funny now. Saeko says it’s very good to see Takashi alive and well. Not only does Saya get insanely jealous, but Rei too. He really is the ladies man. Also further giving evidence to the love re forming between Takashi and Rei.

Shizuka suggests they stay at her female friends place. Wait.. her female friend is out doing work away from home most of the time….someone said earlier they have a friend in that city.. Hmm.. Coincidence ?

This episode was definitely a nice chance. Everyone is adapting to each other, forming strong friendships. There may be relationships blooming. It was a bright episode that even showed survivors and over all….hope.

We start with a nice relaxing flashback of Takashiro, Reiga and a girl called Yomi back when all of them were young.

This is one thousand years ago during the Heian period, when the Giou clan lived quietly in the mountains, within a barrier they created. Apparently some random guy’s summoned powerful demons in the capital, so the government has requested the Giou clan to clear them out. Takashiro’s agreed to go with a few supports. At that time, four ‘saints’ led the Giou clan; Giou Ario, Yomi and Reiga, the fourth is not revealed.

One night as Takashiro and Yomi are talking, they hear a noise and see Reiga go past. Takashiro tells Yomi not to worry and goes to talk to him. He’s just there staring at the peach tree that won’t blossom. But Takashiro tells him that it will as he sees some buds beginning to swell.

The next day, Takashiro leaves for the capital.

Time pass, and even though the peach tree is finally starting to bloom there were still no news from Takashiro.

Switch of scenary now. As Takashiro finally clears up the demons and is on his way back, he suddenly notices something wrong and speeds up. He arrives, only to see the Giou clan house up in flames. According to someone who is still alive, a horde of demons attacked and the barrier was destroyed by Reiga. He rushes on, and find Yomi, in a room, dead. As he takes a step forward Reiga appears and cuts him across the face. All Reiga can say before he disappears is ‘You’re too late’. Takashiro then clutches onto Yomi and screams her name.

Back to present day now. After hearing the full story of Takashiro’s past, Yuki returns to the rest. Now that he knows what this battle is about, Tsubaki wants him to make the choice whether to fight or not. But obviously, Yuki chooses to fight as he doesn’t want people to get hurt.

Tachibana tells him that his mum’s name is Mizuki, and Tsubaki and Ibuki are her younger sisters, so Yuki’s aunts. Mizuki didn’t tell them the father’s name, and one day she just ran off with Yuki.

After hearing that Yuki’s decided to fight. Luka leaves the scene. Back in the residence. Yuki looks up at the moon with a weird longing for Luka.

Hold on a second. I’m very confused now. What’s this thing about Yuki’s mum? I thought he reincarnated this time round… is that how reincarnation works, a new mum every time? Or was that his mother the first time when he was born before ever being reincarnated? Or was her this time’s reincarnation mother? They said nothing on that. I’m going to assume it’s from the very first time he was born before all this reincarnation business, cos from that picture his mum seemed to be dressed in old fashioned clothing. Though then what’s this about bringing him to the orphanage? That seems to imply that a new mother every time… I’m so confused about this… someone explain this to me, how this whole reincarnation thing works. Unless of course they haven’t bothered properly explaining it.

Anyway, onto other random matters that pop into my head as I watch the episode.

The wind in every anime that has wind in, always blow at the most convenient of times. Sometimes I’m actually annoyed at how unnatural the wind is. I mean okay, fluttering hair and bishounen is nice and all, but still, too much of a good thing I guess you could say.

This whole Reiga background story seems like the typical shunned away guy who has too much power then went berserk and wanted revenge for something story. Seems a little cliché in my opinion, but so far it’s looking alright, I’ll admit I’ve been bored a few episodes when things were going very slowly and no action’s taking place. But, it’s getting to the end so I’m expecting some good things. And also, I think there’s also a cliché love story in this too. Seems like that Yomi girl likes Takashiro but Reiga liked her and was jealous.

Another thing I was wondering from the background story is who’s this Ario guy, I’m assuming the guy we saw is Takashiro throughout the flashback. So they introduced a new guy without any sort of introduction. O…kay, I do mind that. But I’ll wait a while, maybe this Ario guy will come into play at a later episode. Which is what I’m also hoping for that fourth guy who leads the Giou clan that was never revealed, that’s intrigued me.

Okay then, Takashiro’s past sorted. Where’s Yuki’s? Still nothing… Hmm… maybe it’ll be revealed near the end then. I want to see it! Ah well, it’s not long now, a few more episode perhaps and we’ll get the full story.

Episode 5: Isn`t It Hard On Your Ass? / I Need More Enjoyment / I Should Run To School With Bread In My Mouth, Too!

No sexual comments = Nightmare!?!

Yep, that is the title for this episode and it is not a typo, also I may have to be little explicit (not too much) as it is getting difficult not to, also this episode has a lot going on, so being brief as I hope is going to be difficult. The episode intro is a bit weird, as in out of focus (no don’t try and adjust your eyes, it’s not you or your computer). Takatoshi arrives at school and is greeted by Shino, followed by Aria (you can just see the top of Suzu’s head, if you missed it) Takatoshi is puzzled in why Shino was serious, Aria replies that she is. During the council meeting, everyone is normal, too normal which Takatoshi asks about the lack of sexual jokes, which horrifies everyone and recommends he should be dismissed, then he wakes up in bed with all that being a dream. Kotomi enters his bedroom, tell him it is time to get up, which he does and immediately falls to the floor.

At school, the student council find out that Takatoshi is off school with a cold. Shino blames herself, after she accepted Takatoshi’s umbrella during the rain in the last episode. Aria suggests that they should visit him, but Shino says it may be overwhelming for him so volunteers to visit him after school.

No cactus was involved

At home, Kotomi comes home and gives Takatoshi a sports drink and a hentai magazine. Later, Takatoshi starts to hallucinate and starts seeing the girl from the hentai magazine. Shino arrives, with Kotomi thinking she is from the escort service. Shino brings Takatoshi a gift, a porno magazine and a cactus. Shino offers to clean Takatoshi’s ears, with Kotomi suspecting something else from next door. When Shino leaves, Kotomi gives her brother a rubber ring cushion suspecting his bottom is sore.

The next day, Takatoshi is back at school and is on the end of another Shino joke, when he is staring at another girl, Shino thinks he prefers short hair girls on the bases of being able to see their bra. Later, Takatoshi finds Aria stood in front of a door, spaced out again. This time she forgets that the school doesn’t have automatic doors. During lessons, Takatoshi falls asleep which gives Yokoshima the chance to play a prank on him by whispering sexual talk into his ear, too see if he ejaculates in his sleep.

Try open sesame

In another class, Suzu is being challenged by fellow classmate into how smart she is, with Suzu winning flawlessly. In student council room, Takatoshi leaves the room with a stomach-ache, but the girls think it’s that he has a long penis. Shino is worried about the upcoming open day swimming, so starts rubbing her breasts think they would grow larger just as Takatoshi enters the room. Shino tells Takatoshi about the swimming open day tomorrow and has hung a Teru teru bozu doll upright (praying for sun) at the window. Hata enters the room and tells Shino that she will be taking a sexy pose picture of Shino tomorrow during swimming open day as they had discussed during a meeting when Shino was half asleep. Hata then leaves, prompting Shino turning the doll upside down (praying for rain).

The next day, Shino and Aria are at the swim open day, Hata is trying to take a normal picture of her, which turns out to be of a sexual nature. Takatoshi is walking passed with a fellow classmate (I think this is Mitsuba, but I am not sure) who points out Shino trembling on the starting block showing her fear of heights again. During a break, Shino discovers that she has smaller breasts than Aria, but has a bigger ass than her. Later Hata tells Takatoshi that she will be take pictures of the boys, as requested by Yokoshima; Suzu wonders why hers was not selected, which turns out that Hata would be in trouble for producing child porn (another Suzu height joke).

Makeshift deaf aid

The next day, Takatoshi oversleeps and only takes a piece of bread to eat on the way, but his sister Kotomi tells him that boys don’t run with bread in their mouths. Later, Aria has a meeting with Shino, about her having a relationship. Shino tells her it is forbidden but is prompted by Takatoshi to hear more. It turns out that she wanted to take in a stray cat that wandered on to the school grounds. Shino thanks Takatoshi for making her listen to Aria more as she would of dismissed it out right.

Pole-vaulting.. Hands-free

The next day, it is Kotomi who is late for school and also opts to run with bread in her mouth, which turns out to be a long piece of bread (looks like a baguette to me). Later, Suzu is talking to Takatoshi in the corridor and asks him if has gotten use to the council. Takatoshi replies he has, but since being around girls, he can’t understand the normal conversations, which turns out that this is also the same problem that Suzu has as well. Later, Yokoshima asks Takatoshi to help her clean the resource room, which turns out to be a ploy to seduce him, but Takatoshi escapes and blocks the door, trapping Yokoshima inside.

The school is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and the student council has been given a section of the school website for the student council, but Shino cannot use a computer. After tuition by Takatoshi, she is still unable to complete the web page as it is difficult, Aria then has a suggestion, which is revealed she had turn the student council webpage into a porno-style site based on the school.

Computers are dangerous

Kotomi is introduced a bit more in this episode and is perverted as the rest of them, I can’t wait to see when she starts college with them. There doesn’t seem to be an outline main storyline at the moment. So ok we know that Aria is dumb, Suzu is smart yet has a “short” fuse and Shino is just perverted, move on.

Back to school and Kanou and Yukimura seems to be on very good terms. Apparently Kanou thinks he can get over of his fear of girls by being around Yukimura, seeing as he’s very much like a girl…

After school, Misaki catches up to Usui wanting to repay the debts she owes him when he helped her out all those times before. And of course Usui asks for Misaki to be his personal maid for a day, which she refuses.

Later that day at Maid Latte, Miyabigaoka’s council’s vice president comes to visit. They’re here to buy out the store! Seems that this guy, Maki Kanade, who’s son to the president of a huge dining firm, likes this spot for a restaurant, a butler restaurant to be exact. Tora also makes his appearance. Though he doesn’t stay long, they hand over the conditions of the buy over and then leave to give them time to think. Misaki calls to Igarashi to stop this, and he says he’ll consider it if he sees that they are more serious than Maki, by, sorta, inviting them to participate in a footmen audition thing to become butlers, though girl’s aren’t allowed…

So on the day, Misaki and Subaru dress up as guys, to be a pair to enter the audition. First task, a marathon, in which one guy in the pair will carry the other as they run, first fifty will proceed to the next round. Obviously Misaki make it, but funny thing is, Yukimura and Kanou are here as a pair too and they also make it through and of course Naoya and Ryuunosuke of the idiot trio are here too cheering Misaki on and also make it through. Oh there’s also some guy wearing a weird mask here too, I can only guess as to who they are…

Second task, tableware carrying. Third task, pot scrubbing. Fourth task, water urn carrying. Fifth task, glass polishing and that ends part one. For the next round, everyone is required to get changed within one minute into their uniforms. Unfortunately Subaru’s not that fast and she is found out to be a girl. We also find out that the masked butlers are Aoi and Usui, who’d have thought it (sarcasm).

So, Aoi, being too young and Subaru, being a girl, leave. But Usui and Misaki can stay, as long as they are both old enough and guys. Misaki pulls a bluff by placing Usui’s hand onto her chest, and then declaring she’s a guy. It works, so the audition will continue in the next episode.

I thought Misaki looked quite nice in a shrine maiden kimono, then again most anime girls look nice in them. It’s so pretty… I want to try one too… Any kimono will do, I just want one!

Dunno if it’s meant to, but this anime seem to make rich people appear like a rather nasty bunch, y’know, bullying around the weak with their huge amounts of money thinking they can buy anything and all that. And as we all know that’s just a rich person stereotype. Many rich successful people are kind people who like to share their knowledge and wealth. I just wanted to comment on that.

Afro man at the audition, hilarious! I loved that part, probably my favourite part of the episode. Maybe he got lost on his way to a retro disco or audition for afro samurai or something. Speaking of afro samurai, I thought that film was vulgar, I was recommended it by a friend of mine cos he knows I like action, cept he didn’t tell me about all the gore… anyway, moving on.

Hmm, you know, I actually wasn’t expecting Kanou and Yukimura to show up here. How does becoming a butler make you manlier? If anything it makes you more ‘gentlemanly’ if that is a word… I don’t quite class those two as the same, but maybe that’s just me. What’s more is I wasn’t expecting those two to make it through that marathon, neither Kanou nor Yukimura look especially strong to me. Though I can’t remember, but I think Kanou may be strong, not sure, well Yukimura’s probably not that heavy to carry anyway, like Aoi, where Usui just picked him up and ran.

The change in one minute test was probably one of the tensest things I’ve seen in this anime, not counting all the Usui and Misaki antics. I feel for Subaru, in front of all those guys… though I don’t think anyone was looking her way. Misaki showed her skills as a maid/butler with her quick changing and other abilities in those tasks.

I find Misaki’s determination to help out Maid Latte quite astounding. Even to the extent that she’d let Usui touch her chest… Though if I had to guess I think she likes him enough anyway, but even still, in front of that many people. If she’s found out later it’ll be a huge embarrassment, I hope that doesn’t happen.

I’d just like to say, Usui should’ve given that Tora a fist in the face. I’m sure everyone agrees with me here.

Last thing then. Kanou x Yukimura anyone? I think it’s cute… hehe… reminds me of Yukimura reminds me of Shuichi from Gravitation slightly…
