With Tachibana and Otonashi making a pact to send off his friends peacefully, they decide to start with Yui. So they work out a plan to get some alone time for Otonashi and Yui.

During band practice, it seems Yui’s guitar playing and singing at the same time isn’t going well, at this time Tachibana comes in and says ‘your guitar is killing the band’ i.e. spotting the band’s weak point, she then takes the guitar and runs, the plan was to get Yui to chase her, but unfortunately, when Yui realised how bad she was she didn’t take it very well and didn’t have the strength to chase Tachibana.

Though after being annoyed at there being no rhythm guitar to hold, she chases Tachibana and the plan goes smoothly to get Otonashi and Yui alone together to talk.

We find out that Yui was hit from behind by a car when she was young and was paralyzed and bed ridden ever since, when she was alive that is. And because of that, there’re many things she wants to do in this world, including playing in a band, hitting a home run, playing soccer and try pro wrestling. Otonashi is determined to grant all of her wishes.

Firstly, pro wrestling, she wants to do a German Suplex, and she does, after many hours of hardwork and practicing.

Secondly, soccer, she intends to dribble past five people and score. After tricking four people to play with Otonashi against Yui, he successfully gets Yui to go round them and score with the help from some dirty tactics and Tachibana.

Thirdly, baseball, she wants to hit a homerun, but after days of trying and hard work, she’s still unable to hit one. She gives up and says it was enough just to move her body around.

Her last request is marriage but she knows that no one wants to marry her. Otonashi disagrees so she asks him if he would marry her, before he can give a proper answer Hinata shouts out that he will marry her, no matter what handicap she has. With that, she can finally rest in peace and she vanishes just like Iwasawa.

To leave us with a cliff-hanger, Noda kills a ‘shadow’ with Ooyama there as though he’d just seen a ghost.

I quite liked this episode actually, it was light hearted and heart warming. I love hand sonic version five, I agree with Otonashi, definitely looks badass, it also comes with a slingshot, what’s not to love? I also agree that if Tachibana sprouted wings she’d look so awesome, just like in the opening sequence.

I laugh at the key branded drinks, no advertising there at all… Also, I have a lot of sympathy for Yui, being bed ridden and unable to do anything is horrible, especially when you’re completely relying on others, makes you feel depressed that you’re bothering others and other depressed because they can’t help you more.

I loved the Hinata scene where he wants to marry Yui, brought a tear to my eye, especially with that soothing music in the background. Surprisingly, I found it to be a rather emotional scene especially with their current relationship. I found myself on the verge of bursting out in tears during the end scene where she disappeared, the visions of what would’ve happened if he did actually marry her when she was alive was so touching.

It seems Hinata has decided to help Otonashi on his quest, but I’m sure his feelings for Yui was definitely genuine. Having gone through such a harsh life, it’s finally time to rest in peace, Yui, we’ll miss you. *sigh* no more music from GirlsDeMo then… I’m depressed now…

So, a mysterious shadow appears. And the show is nearing its end. Could this be the last obstacle in their way? I’m looking forward to the series closing episodes.
