Tale 9

Key Events

The computer younger Jun is on turns off and the entire space starts shaking as a result of something happening in older Jun’s world. However, that means that the older Jun has summoned Kirakisho but it gives younger Jun the chance to escape.

In older Jun’s world, Saitou’s play begins. Jun takes his seat to watch with Suigintou hanging around. Shinku’s waiting for the time tonight when the two words overlap. The clock behind them, that’s supposedly a cardboard cutout, begins to move and both hands reach 12. Time pauses and Kirakisho appears from Shiku’s case.

Kirakisho traps Shinku and Suigintou in her thorns. We find out that her body is not her’s. She disassembled and sent another Rozen Maiden’s body to Jun to assemble and take control of.

Kirakisho’s true aim to capture all Rozen Maidens so she can change bodies with any doll and take on their best qualities and become different forms of herself. That is her idea of ‘Alice’, the perfect girl.

The battle continues until Jun is unexpectedly caught by Kirakisho. Suiseiseki arrives to help, however she only blocks Suigintou and Shinku from harming Kirakisho’s body as it actually belongs to Souseiseki.

Thoughts

I wonder what younger Jun was planning, he seemed unsure when he could escape. He can’t be stuck in that space forever, someone’s gotta make a move. And what did he hope to accomplish by getting Shinku to the other world? That seemed like all he wanted to do and had no follow ups. Or perhaps he didn’t know that Shinku only had a limited about of time. Either way I think it was good that Kirakiho tricked older Jun, as younger Jun would’ve still been stuck there without a clue. And if you think about it, if he’s the trapped person then Kirakisho would naturally be the one making preparations for a plan. I think he should’ve been more prepared for what Kirakisho was going to do. He was stuck, so I suppose he could only wait but some mental preparation or counter strategic thinking can’t hurt.

I laughed at how Shinku told Jun to stay still when Kirakisho had tied him up with thorns. I don’t think he could move if he wanted to. And speaking about Shinku and mental preparation, I wonder what Shinku wanted to do when the two worlds overlapped as obviously she didn’t see Kirakisho coming. I’m assuming she wanted to enter the n field and retrieve her body or something, but she should’ve surely expected Kirakisho to have planned as well. I thought it was surprising to see her surprised as she should’ve expected Kirakisho to show herself at some point. Though perhaps she did but just not so soon. Which is understandable, she did tell Jun not to touch that doll kit, but then that would be her fault for being too trusting, though she has no reason not to. Still should’ve been extra careful. I actually thought she suspected something when Jun didn’t go to sleep that night when she asked him. Though to be fair to both of them, neither of them could’ve seen any harm in trusting each other. Shinku had no reason to think Jun was up to something and Jun had no reason to think that fake Jun was fake. So it was just a well planned strategy from Kirakisho.

Carrying on about Kirakisho, I wonder whose body she’s actually using. Is it definitely Souseiseki’s? Still could be Hinaichigo, I wonder how Suiseiseki can be so sure? Also Suiseiseki’s plan can’t just be to stop Suigintou and Shinku from attacking right? Apart from her own destruction and the rest of her sisters what does she hope to accomplish? She came in with no plan, at least not from what I saw, especially when she just stood there and watched Kirakisho ‘power up’ with Jun’s energy. They’ll need to convince her to do what must be done and fast, otherwise Kirakisho will end up running the show, or Suiseiseki has a plan and she tells everyone later.

Or Jun and Canaria arrive and think of something. And even if they can’t at least they’ll have more people to brainstorm with, there is strength in numbers. I’m not sure how many episodes this series is, so this battle could be a final battle, but I think that would be too quick for the story to be over so I think it’s more likely that it’s another interim battle. I think older Jun will have a chance to return to a ‘normal’ life after seeing more developments for him as a person in this battle hopefully, so he’ll be in a better position than when the anime started. And from then on he might think of something and be able to act on it to beat Kirakisho in battle two.

Shinku mentioned the contract, can she make one with this Jun considering she has another one with the other Jun? And on the topic of contracts, it was never shown so I wonder if Suigintou actually made the contract with Jun. She did start sleeping in Shinku’s case though, so perhaps they did? But I don’t see a ring on Jun. However I did see Suiseiseki handing him a ring in the preview for next episode, so perhaps he will make a contract with her then? That would mean she’s decided to fight.

Shame that time stopped, I was kinda hoping that everyone improvised and the dolls ‘acted’ the final act of the play. I was enjoying the play as well, whatever it was about it seemed interesting. Something about selling memories, could be subtext to the plot perhaps. What definitely still could be to do with everything is the story book that Shinku’s still reading to us.

In a way I think what Kirakisho wants to do is similar to what every other doll should be wanting to do. As her taking bodies is similar to taking Rosa Mystica in that the end result is the same, a combination of seven dolls to create the perfect girl. Just that one combination are the bodies and the other are the ‘souls’, which makes sense for Kirakisho as she would want the bodies having not had one herself.

So, the fight continues, two left to join the party, I think Jun and Canaria will show up next episode and provide some much needed support. I don’t see Suigintou and Shinku getting through to Suiseiseki that easily and in the mean time Kirakisho will be attacking them. Some fighting support and support to convince Suiseiseki to fight will be needed.
