Miyaji Academy, Middle School Division!

Key events

Komoi notices a cardfight circle forming in Miyaji’s middle school and decides to check it out to ‘give guidance’ as upperclassman. Although this is Komoi’s plan to gain popularity in the middle school so that people would look up to him when they enter the vanguard club in the next few years after entering high school. Which explains why he doesn’t want Aichi there as he would draw all the attention.

So Komoi and Ishida go over and meet Emi and Mai, the last member of the circle isn’t there for now. Ishida decides to play again Mai and then loses.

Misaki hears that Ishida went over to the middle school section and tells Aichi and they arrive in good time. Komoi doesn’t know that Emi is Aichi’s sister and so is annoyed at her lack of respect for him and decides to duel her to teach her respect, in which she loses. Then Rekka makes an appearance as the final member of the vanguard circle.

Key cards used:

PR♥ISM-P Labrador

  • Limit Break 4 (This ability is active if you have four or more damage):When this unit attacks a vanguard, choose up to three cards with “PR♥ISM” in its card name from your hand, you may call them to separate open (RC), and if three cards were called, this unit gets [Power]+10000/[Critical]+1 until end of that battle.
  • [Counter Blast (1) – Cards with “PR♥ISM” in its card name] Choose one of your rear-guards with “PR♥ISM” in its card name, and return it to your hand.
  • Lord (If you have a unit that does not belong to the same clan as this unit, this unit cannot attack)

Thoughts:

As expected, Komoi and Ishida got beat up by little girls. Though as enjoyable as that is, the anime didn’t really progress. It seems they’re reintroducing old characters who are settling into new roles and although none of you will believe, but as soon as Emi and Mai said ‘that’ person was going to be late at the vanguard circle part, I knew it was Rekka. I was thinking this would be an odd way to introduce a new character so I looked to pretty much the only person they can put into this new role, i.e. suitable age and not in another school, only person that came to mind was Rekka. Although I think many of you will have realized the possibility of Rekka being that 3rd member anyway so you probably do believe me.

With Emi and Mai dueling again, it was expected that some new Bermudas would be revealed, especially with the new extra booster announced, coming out July to the UK. And in fact I found a card I’m willing to comment on as it’s pretty good. The new archetype for Bermudas, PR♥ISM is what I’m talking about. Though there is the crossride for Pacifica but I don’t think she’s as good.

PR♥ISM-P Labrador is a nice card. Any card that can give itself a 10k boost and an extra critical and spam the field is an excellent card in my eyes. It’s second ability makes sure the main ability can be pulled off and also helps as cards from Bermuda rely on returning to hand and calling. I had a quick glance at 3 PR♥ISM-P cards and sure enough saw Celt needs to be returned to hand to give another unit 4k power. Used in conjunction that’s 14k more power if you give it to Labrador, or use two and that’s 18k. Haven’t been able to see the rest but I’m sure there are others that activate abilities when called to the field to make full use of Labrador’s affects, if not they will more than likely make some. And Labrador’s ability can easily be used twice or thrice if you have the cards available. So yeah, a very nice archetype that I’d use if I ever use Bermudas.

Also, I don’t know if anyone else’s noticed, but there’s been a lot of these powerful cards with Lord abilities. And here I thought they were trying to promote mixed clan decks but with Lord it looks like they’re doing a u-turn on that. Oh well, I guess they couldn’t make it stick so they’re not gonna bother with it anymore.

But anyway, Rekka appears next episode and Komoi and Ishida have yet to find out Aichi has a sister, their reaction will be hilarious I’m sure. Which reminds me, can’t remember if Emi actually knows Rekka, as in knows that she knows everyone else. If you get what I mean.
