Well, things between Shintani and Misaki seems to be going well and obviously Usui’s not happy with such developments.

Later in the day, we see that Shintani lives in a small flat and gets vegetable deliveries from his grandparents.

At Maid Latte, they’re planning a cosplay event dressing up as mahou shoujos from an anime. Satsuki lends Misaki some DVDs so she can get to know the character she’s cosplaying.

On his way home from work, Shintani coincidently meets Misaki’s mum and follows her to her house. He’s already acquainted with Misaki’s family it seems and also her sister and mum can instantly tell that Shintani still likes Misaki. He was apparently looking for that cherry tree he fell off in the past when he met Misaki’s mum.

Sunday now, Maid Latte cosplay event. And of course, all regulars are there including the idiot trio and Usui, who’s here as a customer. I have to say the mahou shoujo routine is done quite well by Misaki and gang.

As things settles Shintani appears and the Usui and Shintani rivalry starts again. Misaki comes back to break the ice a little and serves the idiot trio a Russian roulette game. Three glasses, one with a ‘magic potion’ inside. Whoever drinks that keeps a straight face so Misaki can’t guess who it is. If she fails, they get a photo with her. Kurotatsu drinks the one and collapses on the table. Misaki wins. They retreat.

Usui then leaves, obviously he can’t stand being with Shintani. Shintani asks for a spell to help find things from Misaki and he leaves too.

When everyone’s clearing up, Aoi asks Misaki an interesting question, what is Usui to her? She doesn’t answer. As Misaki takes out the trash, Usui is there. He heard everything, and would also like to know the answer to the question Aoi asked. She doesn’t answer again, so Usui gives the answer for her. He pulls her forwards and embraces her.

Elsewhere, Shintani finds the cherry tree that he fell off all those years ago and is glad that it’s still there.

So I guess Usui and Misaki’s relationship is made quite clear with that last scene between the two. Misaki should really stop denying herself now and just go for it already. I’m sure she knew that her mind was made up ages ago, she just can’t be honest can she. Just let it all out and stop Shintani thinking he has a chance. Y’know, end his misery and stop irritating us as well. It’s been like this for ages.

Anyway, I had two ‘wth’ moments. Firstly in that mahou shoujo anime they had mop missiles? Wth? That anime is hilarious, I’d love to see it just to laugh at how bad it is. Secondly the cheese and hamburger bit with Shintani and Suzuna, my reaction to that was exactly the same as Misaki.

On another matter, the idiot trio was bullied again with that magic juice. I mean sure they saw it coming, but still, give them a break, what’s wrong with just a photo? I’m sure they’ve brought so much business there, to have one on the house. I’d be quite happy for them if they can get just one photo by the end of the series.

I was thinking, if Shintani came in first for Misaki, I’m sure I’d be cheering him on instead of Usui, I kinda like the whole childhood friend idea even if it’s overused. It’s only cos there’s not enough time for him to win that I’m cheering for Usui and plus the series made Usui seem so much better.

Okay then, only two episodes left, I doubt we’ll see any of Usui’s background story. Unless they can tell it all in one episode cos the next episode certainly doesn’t look like it’s about Usui. They’ll probably just use the last two episodes to solidify Usui and Misaki’s relationship to a point where Misaki admits it. Well, I guess that won’t be so bad, as long as we don’t end up with Misaki still being stubborn, then yeah, I wouldn’t mind. Just end with something nice.
