Continuing with the footman audition, it’s the second part. It’s one task, to produce a charming table setup for afternoon tea in ten minutes. With a seemingly skilful Usui at the helm, everyone’s impressed, even Tora.

When Yukimura comes over to greet Usui, he just feigns ignorance and pretends he’s some foreign English student. That seems to work, on the naïve Yukimura at least, but maybe not Kanou.

After a small ‘squabble’ between Usui and Misaki, the final part of the audition begins. This is a serving simulation, the judges will be the customers and the auditioned have to remain elegant and clam when dealing with any situation. Misaki and Usui are going to be the last pair to do this.

They get an interruption from Yukimura again causing Misaki to back away and accidently go over the edge of the platform they were standing on. Usui rushes over and jumps down first so she could land on him. Misaki’s not hurt, but it seems Usui’s arm is injured. Though he puts on a tough exterior and says he’s fine.

Finally it’s their turn to serve, and Maki is the customer/judge. Misaki automatically takes all the physical jobs as she doesn’t want Usui’s injuries to get worse. But Maki sees through this and tries to corner Usui, but Usui dodges it by saying that Misaki’s doing his jobs so he can play the violin. Even with an injured hand his violin playing is amazing.

As the test goes on Usui looks worse and worse. Misaki couldn’t bare it any longer and asks Usui to stop. He tells Maki that Usui is injured and needs treatment, but he takes none of that and reasons that Usui hasn’t said anything. Misaki bursts into a heart to heart lecture about how a café should be caring for its employees as well, and then gets Usui out.

After everything ends, Maki thinks hard about his ideals with Tora and they decide not to go after Maid Latte anymore, after all, Maki could learn a lot from them.

Everything’s fine now, Maid Latte’s safe, but Misaki’s not there. She’s visiting Usui’s place. Apparently he snuck out of hospital. Misaki’s amazed at the grandness of Usui’s house and wonders where his parents are, but she skips that subject as Usui’s obviously still not well. Whilst taking care of him, she realises again that Usui’s always there for her.

I really wonder about some contestants in that footman audition, or rather most. Many seem rather clueless when setting up that table, it’s that one of the main things you do? To not know that and enter, that’s silly, they should’ve studied up more.

I’ve noticed something, y’know those lovely pleasant Usui and Misaki scenes where everything else just stops and there’s always, or almost always a gentle wind blowing even though they’re inside, yeah those scenes, they seem to happen more often now. Or so I think anyway, I’m not counting obviously, just seems that way. I think it’s a good sign, after all those two do seem much closer now, much less annoyance from Misaki when those scenes happen, or that could just be me over thinking things. But either way, they’re relationship is getting close to completion. If you know what I mean.

I wonder what everyone else was thinking during that random Usui and Misaki scene at the footman audition. They must be thinking something along the lines of ‘are we in a shounen-ai manga or something?’ at least that’s what I’d be thinking, and I’d also be enjoying too.

So we now know Usui has music talents as well, although I dunno, but it felt kind of expected with how perfect they’re to be making Usui. What don’t you have Usui? You seem a little too perfect, lol, ah the joys of a shoujo manga. One thing that did confuse me was where that violin appeared out of, seem to come out of nowhere, I know, Usui’s a magician as well isn’t he?

Anyway, not many episodes left now. Misaki has finally gone into Usui’s house, that was one development I waited for.  Usui’s background will soon be revealed most likely, I can’t remember if I speculated this before but I’ll say it again anyway, he’ll have some sort of troubled past and Misaki will get him out of his troubles, I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before. Well whatever, that’s the ending I want, but something else that’s good will do too.
