This episode kicks off with a request. A double date, and Ryoushi and Ryouko are one of the couples, and Ryouko dresses like a girl for once.

A week ago, Hanasaki Jin from the baseball club came in with a request. Apparently someone’s been into his apartment everyday cooking and cleaning for him so he wanted to find out who. Ryouko then installed CCTV cameras and found out it’s a girl called Jizou Ami. When asked about it she explained that Hanasaki lent her his umbrella on a rainy day and this is her way of thanking him, because she’s quite a shy person. They tell Hanasaki and although he has no feelings for Jizou he agrees to go on a date with her to repay her. And so the double date is set up, by Ringo.

As the date goes on we can easily tell that everyone’s way too stiff. Anyway, at the park, Ryouko hears a cat and runs off when setting up the picnic to rescue the cat on a tree and obviously Ryoushi would follow her.

As Ryouko climbs the branch to save the cat, it breaks and she falls into a shallow river hitting her head. Ryoushi fishes her out but when she wakes up she’s lost all her memories since when she was thirteen!

Ryoushi calls Ringo to try and explain the situation but fails and Ringo just tells them to come back. But due to the dilemma Ryoushi decides to ditch the request and hang out with Ryouko. Even though they decide to visit the hospital the ‘thirteen year old’ Ryouko drags Ryoushi around town to random places which then actually feels like a real date.

And when they finally decide to head to the hospital again it starts to rain. So, Ryoushi gets Ringo to see the situation. As he and Ringo talk it seems that Ryouko didn’t like being ignored and ran out of the shop they were in. She bumps into Hitsujikai but Ryoushi catches up and steers her out of his way. Hitsujikai then asks if Ryoushi’s curious about his relationship with Ryouko which makes Ryouko shiver in fear. Then we sorta get the full story. Hitsujikai assaulted Ryouko but no one in her class believed her story, they believed Hitsujikai who said it was a bit of ‘intimacy’ so then she transferred school as the girls at school didn’t like her. Hearing all this Ryouko drops to her knees but Ryoushi stays manly and vows to hunt Hitsujikai down, who leaves when he sees Ringo approach.

And at the hospital she gets her memories back. And all is back to normal again.

Oh and Hanasaki and Jizou end up together and they end well.

Interesting episode. Ryouko in a cute outfit already? I really didn’t expect things to happen so quickly. I know the anime isn’t long, but still, usually last few episodes and the tsundere breaks down. Y’know, save the best for last sorta thing. I don’t know if I like it all this early. The series is doing well though, I love it, so I guess if it carries on like this it’s fine and Ryouko’s still tough on the outside.

So onto the two new characters Hanasaki and Jizou, who seemed like they were just there as a plot device and nothing more. Hanasaki’s quite a brave person I have to say, eating food that was cooked by someone you’ve never met, I’d have chucked it away… or maybe that’s just me being too cautious… That’s about all I can say for them, apart from that Jizou’s as stiff as a board…

It was quite an interesting turn of event for Ryouko to get amnesia. I didn’t see that coming at all. And I quite liked it, I thought it brought the best out in Ryoushi and it was what he needed and of course it’s what also Ryouko needed to notice that Ryoushi’s there for her. Also, I have to say she was quite the refined young lady at the age of thirteen, and then obviously Hitsujikai happened. It was a nice way to feed some more details to us. Ryoushi obviously thought he was in a dream and he must’ve had some weird thoughts… but I do admit he looked very manly staring down Hitsujikai though. You go hunt that creep down!

So I wonder how this series is planning to move on. I still don’t see a prominent storyline, then again it could just be about Ryouko and Ryoushi’s romance story and conquering Ryouko’s past. But I still think that could easily be done within two or three episodes. Then again they could just spring loads of random fillers in between and if they’re funny and interesting fair enough, if not, I’ll probably be slightly annoyed, but so far I see nothing to worry about.

Episode 6: On The Night Of The Party

Chelsea is reporting in the Great Church, a disembodied voice is heard from some curtains and speaks of concern of a calamity that would hit Ert’Aria again. Chelsea is given the mission into finding the cause and to prevent it from getting worse.  Also the voice speaks of a precognition that Chelsea would find happiness in Ert’Aria.

The Bat Signal

Leicester is with Minette talking to a guy about the new gadget that is able to cut branches off trees, including installing a beam emission device which stuns the guy (What would he need that for?).  Minette then spots Chelsea sparring with a fellow knight, with Chelsea winning with ease. The three of them talk, with the other knights suspecting a relationship between Chelsea and Leicester. They are then joined by Carina and Fabious Verritti (Who has name like that!?!). Fabious explains that he is holding a reward party for the Knights Templar at his place tonight. Chelsea appreciates the sentiment but explains that the knights have to guard the artifact. Which is why Leicester is given the job of patrolling the sacred temple and the surroundings, he accepts. The Oasis clan would be on guard duty except Agnes and Minette who would be attending the party, which leaves only Leicester and Nick patrolling. The girls get change into their dresses with Chelsea being embarrassed.

Stop drooling you make make the floor slippery

The cake was a lie!?! The proof is in the pudding you fool!!!

At the party, Agnes begins her performance whilst Minette is crowded round with people. Meanwhile outside the party the Tortilla sisters and Golem (Finally they in!) are given the quest to guard the party.  Chelsea and Carina enter the party, with Chelsea still feeling embarrassed is asked to dance by Tango, she accepts. Outside the Tortilla sisters sense something’s aura, which increases their vigilance when something appears and Golem is knocked down.  Meanwhile, Shelley and Nagan arrive at the party, suddenly Chelsea and Minette sense something which follows with a window smashing and a crystal monster appearing. Agnes and Carina engage the monster with Agnes’s puppets and Montecchia, with Minette calling on Garnet. Garnet recognises the monster as a Glade Viper GX; a monster that can hide its form and move at high speed.

Nice Sword

Minette sends Garnet to Leicester and almost gets hit when Golem blocks the attack. Ritos tells her Salsa to use the secret weapon; push the red button on Golem’s head whilst telling everyone else to cover their ears (donning a pair of cat Nekomini ear muffs). Salsa presses the button and Golem unleashes a loud deafening sound throughout the room; turns out that Ritos predicted something like this and got Leicester to install a high-frequency device in Golem. The gang continues their battle with the monster without success due to it being invisible; Chelsea wants to be able to see it to hit it when Leicester arrives with Garnet. Leicester figures out that the monster attacks sources that emit light so a high powered source would draw it out. He activates a lamp emitting a high powered light, which the monster attacks. Leicester grabs the monster and calls on Chelsea who attacks the monster. The monster, a snake returns to normal separated from the crystal that don its head and flees. Chelsea tells Leicester that he was reckless then faints to the floor. Turns out that Chelsea had drank too much alcohol and could not handle it and therefore she is carried by Leicester (via piggy back) back to the Oasis Clan Headquarters. Leicester puts Chelsea to bed, she then sits up and tells him that she really enjoyed herself before passing out again.

Nice Legs

Not a bad episode I think, this is episode focused on Chelsea as we get to see a different side to her which I think makes her look moé. There is also the growing concern by the parents on the increase of monster activity, which I see growing more and involving Minette. So we are practically halfway so I think more of what is happening will follow soon in the next couple of episodes, bring it on!
