This week’s post is the new(ish) OP to Black Clover. Black Clover’s been knocking it out of the park for OP/ED themes recently, and this may be the best one yet.

On top of that, I have previous love for Seiko Oomori songs (particularly the 2nd ED to Shokugeki no Soma), so that’s probably why this theme rates so highly for me.

But – good God, is this OP spoilerific or what?

Another week of non-stop shifts, another late post.

This week’s SOTW is the first Black Clover OP, which I’ve just realised I never did anything on when it was airing. How strange. So this is me now posting something on it.

You know what? Looking back on this opening, and having bought the English-released tankoubon and starting to read through the manga again, there’s been a lot of awesome character development in this series. I wouldn’t hesitate to say that with the very good magic system in place, and the interactions between all of the characters, Black Clover may be one of the best series as far as character development goes. Specifically, it’s far better in this category than some of its predecessors.

Having worked six days straight, this post is obviously late this week.

Anyway, without me working those days in a row and having to hold this back, I wouldn’t have been able to make this post about this song, which popped up this week as Black Clover’s new and 5th Opening. I like it (the bassline gets me intrigued from the off), and I also really like the arc we’re coming too, so all-in-all it seems like a great OP theme.

Well, here’s a pretty good reason for me doing late posts. This song wouldn’t be this week’s Song Of The Week if I’d have done the post on the Sunday.

It’s because I’ve been busy that I’ve been able to watch this week’s Black Clover and see its new OP, hence it being in this post.

It’s a pretty good song for a pretty good arc, and I’m really looking forward to it.
